This Brewery is How Old?

So, you've been brewing beer for a while and feel like a veteran brewer... but did you know the Weihenstephan brewery in Germany is almost 1000 years old? Like most early brewing establishments, their beers were first brewed in a monastery and was not only for consumption, but used as a means of payment (who wouldn't take beer to settle a debt). The brewery, which still stands today, has endured four fires, three plagues and a major earthquake. If ever in southern Germany, visit the Weihenstephan Brewery.
